The Pourchet brand
Nestled beneath the arcades of Place des Vosges in Paris, the Maison Pourchet flagship store embodies the history of this iconic brand. Founded in 1903 by Auguste Gindre for his wife, the brand established itself as a renowned leather bag maker by 1920, driven by their daughter, Marcelle. Under Robert Pourchet's leadership in the 1950s, innovation was at the heart of the company, introducing revolutionary techniques in leather goods manufacturing. The 1960s saw the company's growth and the creation of numerous must-have bags, including the famous "Croco" bag and the Madison canvas of the 1970s. Taken over in 2004, Maison Pourchet continues to reinvent itself, offering collections that skillfully blend tradition and modernity, while asserting an elegant and on-trend Parisian style.

Our Shops
The Pourchet universe: tradition and modernity
Our House draws its inspiration from the heritage of Parisian leather goods while embracing the codes of contemporary fashion. Our women's handbags come in all shapes: from spacious totes for the office to practical cross-body bags for the city, and refined clutches for evenings. For men, our men's bags combine elegance and functionality with leather briefcases, urban backpacks, and sleek satchels.
Small leather goods complete this universe with wallets, card holders, and coin purses available in the same leathers as our bags, for a harmonious set. Our accessories (belts, interchangeable straps, key rings) add a final touch to every outfit.
Exceptional leathers
At Pourchet, the choice of leather is fundamental. We select full-grain cowhide leathers from certified European tanneries, favoring natural grain leathers that develop a patina over time. Grained leather offers remarkable resistance to daily scratches, while smooth leather seduces with its softness and shine. The finishes (saddle stitching, brushed brass buckles, elaborate clasps) testify to an attention to detail that distinguishes artisanal leather goods from industrial production.
Flagship collections
The Blossom collection seduces with its rounded and feminine shapes, ideal for a romantic style. The Cassetta collection revisits the structured bag with a signature jewel clasp that makes all the difference. Anjou plays the chic vintage card with its aged leather and retro details, while Sèvres embodies Parisian rigor with its geometric lines. The Trianon collection combines the classic spirit with a touch of modernity with carefully studied proportions.
Pourchet Made in France
Part of our production is carried out in our workshops in France, perpetuating the gestures of French leather craftsmanship. This savoir-faire is reflected in the precision of the seams, the regularity of the dyes, and the robustness of the assemblies. You may be wondering...
What are the origins of Maison Pourchet?
Maison Pourchet was founded in Paris in 1903. For over 120 years, it has designed bags, small leather goods, and leather accessories in the tradition of French leather craftsmanship. The House has successfully navigated the decades, maintaining its high standards of craftsmanship while renewing its collections each season.
What leathers does Pourchet use?
Pourchet primarily uses cowhide leather from European tanneries. The hides are selected for their natural grain, suppleness, and ability to develop a patina over time. Depending on the collections, you will find scratch-resistant grained leather, smooth silky-touch leather, vintage-effect leather, and textured leathers such as Saffiano.
What does "Les Intemporels" mean at Pourchet?
Les Intemporels refers to Maison Pourchet's permanent collections: Blossom, Cassetta, Anjou, Sèvres, and Trianon. These lines transcend seasons and embody the Maison's signature style. They are permanently available in classic colors and are updated each season with new shades.
