Pourchet's Made in France Commitment
The Made in Francelabel at Pourchet is more than just a label: it's an expression of a deep commitment to French artisanal savoir-faire. Our workshops in France perpetuate leather goods techniques passed down for over a century, from the selection of hides to the most delicate finishes.
The stages of savoir-faire
The manufacturing of a Pourchet bag follows a rigorous process that begins with the selection of leathers: each cowhideis inspected to verify grain regularity, absence of defects, and leather suppleness. Cuttingis performed by experienced artisans who optimize each hide to minimize waste and select the finest areas. Skiving(thinning the edges) allows for clean and discreet assemblies. The seams combine precision machine stitching and manual finishes, especially the saddle stitchingthat reinforces stress points. Edge dyeingby hand provides an impeccable finish to each edge of the bag.
Exceptional materials
Our cowhides come from certified European tanneriesthat adhere to strict environmental standards. Grained leatheroffers resistance and texture, smooth leathercharms with its natural elegance, and the patinated leatherfrom the Anjou collection is a testament to specific artisanal treatment. The metal parts(buckles, clasps, rivets) are made of brushed or polished brass, chosen for its resistance to oxidation and lasting shine.
